The Business Empire of Hussain Sajwani

Hussain Sajwani, who is the Founder and Chairman of DAMAC Properties, was born in 1953. He is an Emirati real estate businessman popularly known as “The Donald Trump of Dubai.” His father was an entrepreneur who operated a shop selling watches, shirts, parker pens, and other imported Chinese goods.



Hussain Sajwani started his work life in in 1981 working for Abu Dhabi Gas Industries in the Finance Department. He later started his catering venture that used to serve customers from the US Military and Bechtel. This company is still operational under the name Global Logistical Services. In 2002, Hussain Sajwani launched DAMAC Properties which is one of the leading property development firms in the Arab world.



The DAMAC owner is associated with many business concerns some of which include DAMAC Invest Co. LLC, DAMAC Holding LLC, and Al Jazeira Services Co. SAOG. His businesses are related to many other companies in the property market all over the world. However, the most notable business relationships are with Arab-based companies such as Clydesdale Bank Plc, Abu Hani Group, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles Co., among others.



Hussain Sajwani has been having business relationships with Donald Trump through his businesses. Both of them have reputable real estate businesses which have been collaborating on some big projects. Donald Trump’s real estate company, the Trump Organization, has been having close collaborations with DAMAC Properties. The two entities were involved in the development of the Trump International Golf Club, where luxury villas have generated revenues of almost $2 billion regarding sales.



The company is involved in the development of properties which include performing great marketing stunts to attract the attention of buyers. The Hussain Sajwani family engage in philanthropic work where they give donations to charitable causes and organizations. They launched an initiative that was graced by the Ruler of Dubai whose aim is to provide support to underprivileged children around the world who lack clothing. He donated AED 2 million that was aimed at helping about 50,000 children with clothing.
